Chesapeake Pathfinder Camporee Sees Large Turnout

Over 200 Pathfinders and staff gathered at the Mt. Aetna Retreat Center and Highland View Academy campus in Hagerstown, Maryland for the 2021 Chesapeake Conference Camporee. The theme for the camporee, which ran August 4-8, was “God Delivers.”

Thirteen clubs from around Chesapeake Conference attended the event. More than half the Pathfinders who participated were teenagers.

"By providing over 40 activities that included honors, recreation, and spiritual messages, our camporee became a retreat for our young people for fellowship, and a time to grow closer to God," says Carl Rodriguez, youth and young adult director for Chesapeake Conference.

Pathfinders began each day with flag raising and morning worship and ended each night with an evening devotional. Daily activities included golf, basketball, kickball and roller-skating. Pathfinders also had the opportunity to earn honors such as mountain biking, pinewood derby, model rockets, basic water safety and archery.
