The Chesapeake Conference Praise and Worship ministry is responsible for ushering in the presence of the Holy Spirit at youth department conference events. Psalms 100:1-4 says, “Make a joyful noise, shout to the Lord, all you lands! Serve the Lord with gladness, come before His presence with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God. It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves. We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise.”  Praise and worship triggers the overflow of God’s Spirit in our hearts. We not only enter God’s presence through praise (Psalms 100:4), but we are also filled with His presence through praise and worship. James 4:8 says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” Jesus said, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, from his innermost being will flow rivers of living water. This He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive” (John 7:37-39). 

We normally don’t think about God having needs, but He wants and needs our worship. Praise and worship is an expressed way for us to minister to the Lord. The only way His need will ever be met is through our praise and worship. Let’s fulfill our purpose in life by praising and worshiping Him with all of our heart.
